Lindsey Won!

Well congratulations to Ms. Lindsey for passing the test to get her learner's permit! It was a long ordeal, but after almost two hours we walked out with her permit. So watch out drivers......she is starting to practice. I am proud of you Lindsey. On October 9th she can go back after lots of driving practice and get her driver's license.

Lindsey vs. The Learner's Permit

Well today is the day! Watch out drivers!! I am getting off work at 11:30 to get Lindsey out of school to beat the crowds at the DPS office so Lindsey can take her test to get her learner's permit. I just hope that mom has all her stuff together with all the forms from the packet and school together so it will happen. I am not sure how much studying Lindsey has done, but the test will tell. Keep your fingers crossed that she passes and then in 6 months right around her birthday she can get her "drivers licenses". She is growing up! We will let you know how she did. Say a prayer for her and also for mom and dad that has to do the behind the wheel training. :)

Welcome to the Carter BLOG

I am a wife and a mom to two wonderful children, Lindsey 15 and Chris 11. They keep me on my toes and it's never a dull moment in the Carter household. I have been working for 10 years for an engineering firm as an Engineering Assistant. I love my job. It is like my extended family. My husband is a Sr. Piping Designer and is hoping with the economy right now will keep having a job. But don't all of us right now?!?!?

Lindsey is our teenager of the household. 15 going on 25. Every day is a new day with her. One day she loves you, the next day we are not sure who she is. I would NOT want to be a teenager again. There is so much more they can get into these days with cell phones, Internet, etc. And TEXTING....seems like that is our best communication with her at times.
Chris is our motorcycle junkie. Can't get enough. He is 11 and growing up so fast. He has now learned how to do wheelies and it scares me to death. I hate to watch. He also loves all of his gaming systems. It's getting hard to keep up with which one is which.
All in all Lindsey and Chris are great kids. They are sweet and loving when they want to be, but aren't all kids. I have to say having them is a learning experience and every day I ask God for help and guidance.

My relationship with Roger grows stronger each day. I admit we have had our rough patches, but I think maybe that was something we had to go through to make our love for each other stronger and more committed to each other. One thing we have gotten better at is being a team. I love you honey!

Please enjoy this blog I have set up. I thought this would be a way to keep family and friends updated on the Carter household and also more involved in our lives. Enjoy!

Wood Floors

I am so excited the wood floors are being laid in our bedroom today! We have gone from carpet to wood floors. Roger isn't too excited about it, being that he thinks the floor will be cold now. But I am excited because it will be much easier with the dogs. For those of you that don't know we have five dogs, you heard correctly FIVE! We have five Chihuahuas. They are so cute and all of them have different personalities and look different too. Sometimes I feel like I live in a dog house. Being the dog's boxes are in our room, so they sleep in there and is pretty much with us all the time. I think it will just be much easier to keep clean. When the floors get done I will have to post a photo.

Around 11:00 AM today I got a call from Chris' school. He wasn't feeling well. He had a tummy ache. Wasn't running fever, but didn't sound good when I talked to him. So Chris got to come home early today. He is sitting on the couch right now and we are watching the new James Bond movie that is out on DVD. It's pretty good so far. I think Chris is feeling better. I gave him some medicine and he ate some soup, so I think he will be back to normal before long.
